San Juan.Soralla Calviño López

SAN JUAN
The San Juan is known as “Noche de Fuego” or “Noche de las Brujas” . It is a very old party  and it is celebrated in the night the 23  to 24 of June and it celebrates the arrival of the Solstice of Summer in the Hemisphere North. The tradition principal the San Juan is to light a bonfire with the purpose of that  tradition “give very strength the sunny”.
In the Night of San Juan people meet in the village with their relatives, friends or neighbors for to carry out a evening dinner. At the end, they jump the bonfire and dance a round it in company of a small orchestra.
The firemen this night have a lot of work.
In some places there is the tradition of put branches on the window and the door, each  one has a medicinal property.
